AMBER BALTZER
Amber has participated on swimming, diving, and water polo teams throughout her life. She was a Lifeguard throughout all her high school years and has also been a Lifeguard at various events and parties since high school. She has been teaching swimming since 1997. In 2000, she started Amber's Swim School. She graduated college as a certified Kinesiotherapist in which she helps children with special needs discover and develop their motor planning skills. She has been an Adapted PE teacher and a Behavior Therapist. Through all of her experience she has not only learned the importance of water safety but has also learned the importance of teaching others these important skills.
APRIL GUSTAVSON
April has been teaching swimming since 2001. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Exercise and Sports Science from BYU-Hawaii in 2004. She has extensive experience working with children as a Behavior Therapist for 4 years in Hawaii and is currently working with at risk kids as a Care Coordinator. Through her experience in working with children she has learned that each child is different and how to focus on their individual needs. She loves kids, she loves to swim, and she loves the combination of the two. She is excited to share her love of the water with others and help them feel safer and more confident with their swimming. She looks forward to teaching at Amber's Swim School.
MADDY RITTER
Maddy was raised in beautiful Huntington Beach, CA. From an early age Maddy has loved swimming and the water. Maddy also loves children and loves to share her love of the water with her young students. She is a Red Cross certified Water Safety Instructor and has been teaching swimming since 2009. During the school year she attends Brigham Young University in Utah and is working on her degree in English, and loves it!
DANNY RITTER
Danny grew up in Huntington Beach and enjoys swimming, surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding. Danny is an Eagle Scout and he is bilingual (Spanish). Danny is majoring in Biochemistry at BYU in Utah. His goal is to become a pediatrician. Danny loves working with kids and laughs and plays with them so that they enjoy learning new things. Danny is a Red Cross Certified Water Safety Instructor and started teaching swimming 2010. He thinks there couldn't possibly be a better way to spend the summer than teaching kids to swim at Amber's Swim School.
BROOKE RASMUSSEN
Born and raised in Huntington Beach, Brooke was a competitive swimmer and water polo player. Since 1996 she has been an Ocean Lifeguard and Junior Lifeguard Instructor for the City of Huntington Beach. The last 14 years have been spent developing a passion for teaching children how to be strong, smart, healthy athletes who always have fun! She graduated from college with a degree in Exercise Physiology and a teaching credential in P.E. and Health Education. Brooke loves to run and snowboard in the off-season, but when summer finally gets here, she's at the beach!
TARA SILLASEN
Tara Sillasen grew up in Huntington Beach, CA. She is an Honor student graduating from Edison High School this year and plans to attend Southern Utah University in the fall. She plans to pursue a degree in nursing. Tara loves children, is kind and patient. She has nine years of experience in HB Junior Lifeguard training, and two years of lifeguarding for a community pool. She loves swimming and knows the importance of being water safe. Certified in CPR, Lifeguarding, First Aid, and is a Certified Red Cross Water Safety Instructor.
